Perhaps you&#8217;re thinking of learning a new language or planning on traveling on that side of the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever it may be &#8211; these are important things to remember before you dive into the thrilling world of language learning.<\/p>\n<h2>Russian vs. Spanish: Speakers<\/h2>\n<p>There&#8217;s about 559 million Spanish speakers worldwide. 470 million of those are native speakers.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to Russian, there&#8217;s only 400 million speakers in total. Though Russia geographically looks larger &#8211; Spanish has a much wider reach.<\/p>\n<p>Spanish is a very popular second language in the United States. It&#8217;s actually considered one of the more useful languages to learn to live in the US, explains\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.daytranslations.com\/blog\/most-important-languages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DayTranslations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Russian Vs. Spanish: To be<\/h2>\n<p>Spanish has two forms of the verb &#8220;to be,&#8221; and they are&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ser:\u00a0You should use this form of the verb to describe something permanent. You&#8217;ll find it most useful to say things like &#8220;Mar\u00eda is smart,&#8221; because she is always smart.<\/li>\n<li>Estar: You will want to use this to describe not permanent things, like being sick or to say you are somewhere according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thespanishexperiment.com\/learn-spanish\/to-be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Spanish Experiment<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Russian doesn&#8217;t have a form of &#8220;to be&#8221; in the present tense! Only the past &amp; future have a form of &#8220;to be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Russian Vs. Spanish: Both are stray from English with letters<\/h2>\n<p>In Spanish, the letter &#8220;w&#8221; is rarely seen. When you do see it, it&#8217;s typically a borrowed word.<\/p>\n<p>In Russian, they don&#8217;t really start many words with the letter &#8220;A&#8221; outside of names. Of course, there are some exceptions like the Russian equivalent to &#8220;perhaps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Russian vs. Spanish: both are the official languages of multiple countries<\/h2>\n<p>Spanish is extremely widespread &#8211; it&#8217;s spoken in 22 different countries! The majority of these are in the Americas and Europe.
