Being polite<\/b><\/h2>\n

Good manners and greetings, even if you don\u2019t learn any other words in Spanish, are very important.\u00a0 Saying hello, please and thank you in Spanish acknowledges that you are a guest and respectful of the country you are visiting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Spain, people say hello and good-bye when they go into a shop, a restaurant or a bar. In some regions, they greet each other when entering and exiting an elevator. This hasn\u2019t been adopted everywhere in every country in Latin America and the Caribbean, but it\u2019s better to err on the side of good manners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
