18 Sep Spanish Online Course (Argentinian) – Level 1
With so many different countries speaking Spanish, it is understandable that each country has its own style and added characteristics in the Spanish that they speak. For the Spanish of the Argentinians, the most obvious difference is the cadence of the language. The cadence is closer to Neapolitan (Naples) Italian than standard European Spanish.
The Italian influence stems from an influx of Italians into the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Other than this particular distinguishing feature, the Argentinians have an interesting peculiarity where “ll” is pronounced “sh” rather than “y” as in common Spanish. These little differences make for a unique experience when learning the language.
