As the 50th San Diego Comic Con comes to a close it’s obvious there’s no shortage of things to talk about. From Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki crying during their final Supernatural panel to Marvel Studios releasing their game plan for Phase 4, it was an exciting weekend.
Some notable announcements this weekend were:
Marvel Studios
Marvel Studios did not disappoint, as per usual, when they released their Phase 4 release schedule. Scarlett Johanssen is kicking phase four off with her own solo Black Widow movie, you’ll also see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan take names in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Did you know Angelina Jolie was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, if you didn’t, now you do. She, along with Salma Hayek and others, will star in Eternals. Trickster Loki will be getting a Disney+ show, as well as the troubled Scarlett Witch. More Disney+ shows will include a “What If?” series that they speculate will carry plotlines of things such as “What if Peggy Carter was Captain America?”, “Marvel Zombies” and more, according to Complex.
Marvel revealed that Natalie Portman will play Lady Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, Marvel saved the best for last and they are doing fan-favorite, Blade. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until 2021 for that!
Television
Comic Con 2019 did not disappoint in the Television department. With a few favorites coming to an end, DC Comics and Amazon prepared audiences for the end of their beloved series. DC Comics and HBO, however, are bringing fans an all new experience with a twist on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen.

Cinema
Outside of Marvels announcements, Comic Con 2019 wasn’t very movie focused, there were still some great releases of sequels (and a reboot!) Three cult classics were previewed and the crowd went crazy for Kevin Smith’s announcement!
It Chapter Two
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
Top Gun Maverick
